Simon, the founder and captain of Nautilus Experiences, hosts historically themed tastings that connect people through stories, flavours, and shared rituals. He wanted a short film that would capture what it truly feels like to attend one of his events — the atmosphere, the humour, and the storytelling at the heart of his brand. From our first consultation, it was clear this wasn’t just about promoting an event, it was about creating a story that transports the viewer.

We chose to film at Manchester Art Gallery, a setting that beautifully complemented Simon’s themes of art, history, and culture. Each shot was designed to mirror the feeling of stepping inside a painting, using lighting, pacing, and detail to build emotion and atmosphere.

As a former art director, filming in such a space was particularly special. We wanted to reflect both Simon’s world and our shared respect for craft and storytelling — qualities that define us as a Manchester event video company.
